horizon and beyond.........

Today ,as member of DGPLUG went to prepare labs for Horizon '07 ,techfest of Dr.B.C.Roy Engg. college ,durgapur.
guess what progress level is something around 10%.

details of tech fest : here it is :
This is a three day event(13th - 15th February). Day 1(13th Feb):The seminar day, talks will be given on different parts of Free Software world.
Day 2(14th Feb):Workshop day, there will be workshops on Python, SVN, PyQt.
Day 3(15th Feb):First meet of NRCFOSS in West Bengal.National Resource Center for Free Open Source Software, a projectfunded by the DIT, Government of India, has its Human Resource wing located at AU-KBC Research Center, MIT Campus of Anna University, Chennai. This team takes care of the HRD aspects of NRC-FOSS, especially in the academic arena.One of the tasks is to introduce FOSS in the formal sector of education. As a first step, they have introduced FOSS Electives - I and II, in the academic curriculum for Under Graduate students in Computer Science, information Technology and Masters in Computer Science streams, in the colleges affiliated to Anna University. They have also trained around 150 lecturers to handle these electives.
The Agenda:1. General Presentation on FOSS and why we in India should beinterested in it.2. Presentation on NRCFOSS and its programs, with emphasis on the HRD in Higher Education part. Presenting the TNExperience.3. Discussion on what can be done in the Engg. Institutions in W.B.-- to finally arrive at a program4. Identification of specific follow up tasks and individualsresponsible for it.
